2018 ACE Award Wins

We are proud to announce that Tagence is the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Small Business of the Year! We have enjoyed working with the Greater Reston Chamber throughout the year and are honored to have been selected for this prestigious award.

Chamber President Mark Ingrao presented the award with these comments:

Some businesses join our Chamber and make magic happen! This awardee is one of them. Their employees attend networking events, participate on committees, invest in sponsorships, share their knowledge, lead initiatives, promote our news, introduce new members!

This small business joined our Chamber less than 2 years ago and in just the first 6 months of 2018, has spearheaded an educational program with the GSA; sponsored a morning networking event and provided an educational presentation on data management best practices; helped to establish a new network initiative – sharing teaming opportunities for Chamber members to collaborate on government contracts; and most importantly, co-chaired the Steering Committee for one of our largest signature events. A total team effort, their marketing director promotes our events on social media, through eblasts and on their web site; and their leadership team attends our monthly committee meetings and most events.

For engaging in our Chamber from day one and advancing our GovCon mission while growing their GovCon business, it is my pleasure to award the Small Business of the Year to Tagence!

Jennifer M. Rhodes, Tagence’s Executive Vice President, also received an award for her work on the Northern Virginia B2G Conference Steering Committee. Jennifer is committed to strong business development, not just for Tagence but for the Chamber and its members. Her expertise in strategic capture initiatives benefits all who have the pleasure of working with her.

Committee of the Year Remarks:

Our Chamber is blessed to have active members engaged in our various initiatives, which support business growth as well as advance the mission of our Chamber.  This year one committee stood out for its strategic planning, outreach, promotion and record-breaking results.  This committee provides an annual forum focused on educating small and medium businesses about connecting and winning work with the government; connecting them with agencies and large primes through specific pre-scheduled matchmaking appointments; and networking opportunities which are vital for growth.

In 2018, this committee set high goals and ultimately, raised the bar for success.  They secured 11 new agencies and primes, as well as 14 new sponsors and exhibitors.  As a result, they broke multiple records.

For their leadership, industry guidance, outreach and promotion to make our regional event an industry must-attend annual Conference & EXPO, it is my pleasure to award Committee of the Year to the Northern Virginia B2G Conference Steering Committee chaired by Jennifer M. Rhodes of Tagence and Dan Nathan of AOC Key Solutions.
